Ode to a tree by Rob Hood©2007
A hardy tree growing in the soil
reaches skyward through its toil
Fibery roots are it's anchor
To be under it's branches
is what I hanker
It casts an interesting symmetry
It's tied to no group
from what I see
When I die I hope to be
just like it
so wild and free
